How we started and why: My best friend Caleb and I always had a dream of owning our dream cars, trucks, and having money. We thought, what better way to get there than by starting a business young? We started at the ages of 11 and 12 by doing landscaping for our neighbors and my parents. We got bored, started slacking, and eventually stopped. A year later, we started up again doing landscaping, and again it flopped. We started to give up on trying to even start a business until a few years later when I was 15 and had a wonderful thought pop into my head while I was cleaning out our family car. I realized that we could start a car cleaning business, later known as FreshRideDetailing. Caleb and I grew up together, as close as can be. I immediately texted him about my idea and he was so down, we were both pumped. We did all of our research through Instagram, Safari, and other detailers. Once we finished our research, we needed products. We maybe went all in on buying stuff, haha. It was costly but well worth it.
We got ahold of numerous detailing brands, trying them all out one at a time. If we didn’t like one or it didn’t perform well, we would use the rest of the bottle and then try a new brand. We really used experimentation to figure out our path in this business. Our first goal was to make as much money as possible so we could buy matching trucks before we turned 18. Now the goal is customer satisfaction on another level, showing our customers what true attention to detail is and showing them real results. Of course, we do it for money as well, but money for the Lord, not for us. We’re using tiny details people don’t really notice to bring Christ into detailing. We’re not forcing religion or making it weird, we’re simply spreading the Word, if you will.
